Account & Subscription
Your account manages your plan benefits; your subscription imports route configurations into your client. Keep both secure.
Do I need an email address to create an account?
No email address is required. Create an account with a username and password. Save your credentials in a trusted password manager and make sure you can sign in to the user dashboard. Your username identifies your account, and your password is used to sign in. Keep them separate from your subscription link, and never share them publicly. Since account creation does not require an email address, do not assume you can recover access by email. If you have trouble accessing your account, contact support through an available option on the site. Never send anyone your full password.
Where can I find my subscription link, and how do I update it?
Sign in to the user dashboard and find your account’s subscription details in the subscription section. Then import them using your client’s instructions. On devices where the subscription is already imported, you can usually update it from the client’s subscription or configuration page; you don’t need to delete and re-create the configuration each time. Before updating, make sure your local network is working and that the selected configuration belongs to VPNRest. If the routes don’t change after an update, check whether the client is still using an old configuration and whether the update failed. Also check your plan access and data status in the dashboard.
Do I need to choose a new plan when I switch devices?
There’s no limit on the number of devices that can be connected at the same time, so switching devices alone doesn’t mean you need a new plan. Sign in to the user dashboard on your new device, get the client and subscription using the steps for that platform, and test the connection. VPNRest supports Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. You’ll need to import and configure the service separately on each device; a connection on your old device won’t configure the new one for you. If you use the same account, keep an eye on your data status in the dashboard. Unlimited devices does not mean unlimited plan data.
Can I share my subscription link to get help troubleshooting?
Your subscription link contains information needed to access your account, so treat it as a sensitive credential. When asking for help, share the client name, operating system, error message, and screenshots with sensitive details obscured—not the full subscription URL. If the link has been exposed, sign in to the dashboard and look for an option to reset or retrieve a new subscription link. Afterward, update the configuration on every device using the old link. If you can’t find that option, open a support ticket and explain that the link may have been exposed. Don’t post it publicly or submit it to an unfamiliar diagnostic site.
Connection & Troubleshooting
Check your local network, client configuration, and target app separately to narrow down the cause.
The client says it’s connected, but websites won’t load. What should I check first?
Disconnect and make sure your local network can still access websites that normally work. Reconnect, then check that the client has selected a valid configuration. Next, check your plan access and data status, and try another route. See whether all websites are affected or only the service you’re trying to reach. A connected status usually means the client has established a connection; it doesn’t guarantee that every app is using it. Also check your system proxy, client routing mode, and browser settings to make sure another proxy tool isn’t overriding them.
Why does the browser work, but a particular app doesn’t use the proxy?
Apps handle network connections differently. Some use the system proxy, while others have their own network settings or are affected by the client’s routing rules. Check the client’s current mode and rules to see whether the app or domain is set to connect directly. If the client offers a mode that can route traffic from that app, enable it according to the client’s instructions and check that the required system permissions are granted. Close and reopen the app after making changes, then test again. A working browser connection doesn’t mean every app on the device is using the proxy.
Subscription update failed or no routes appeared after import. What should I do?
Make sure you copied the full subscription link, without extra spaces, line breaks, or page text. Then confirm that your current network can reach the user dashboard, and check your plan access and data status. If the link was reset, retrieve the current one instead of using an old saved link. If it still fails, note the exact error shown by the client and check whether the link is invalid, the network request failed, or the configuration format is incompatible. When opening a support ticket, provide the error message and client details; don’t include your full subscription credentials.
Where can I get the client, and how do I open a support ticket for connection issues?
Download clients from the downloads section of the user dashboard. Sign in to get your subscription. Clients for platforms other than iOS are available after signing in; the iOS link is provided with an eligible active plan. If you have connection issues, open the tickets section in the dashboard and include your device platform, client name, affected route, target app, and the full error message. Also say whether your local network is working and whether switching routes changes the result. Obscure sensitive details such as your username and subscription link in screenshots. This helps support identify the issue; simply saying that it doesn’t work isn’t enough.
Speed & Routes
First check which region the service requires, then compare how the routes perform on your connection. Route types don’t guarantee a particular speed in every situation.
How should I choose a route when streaming buffers or websites slow down during peak hours?
Keep the target app and test content the same while comparing routes, so you can identify what makes a difference. First check whether your local Wi-Fi is congested, other devices are transferring large amounts of data, or a subscription update is still in progress. Try automatic route selection, or compare different route types using the same exit region. If only one service is slow, consider both its regional requirements and its current status. The closest route isn’t always the best for your network; sustained browsing and streaming are more useful measures than a single speed test.
What’s the difference between IEPL, relay, and direct routes?
These terms describe how a connection is routed; they don’t guarantee a particular speed for every app or at every time. IEPL routes use dedicated link access, relay routes forward traffic through an intermediate node, and direct routes use a more direct path. Your experience also depends on your local network, exit region, target service, and current route conditions. First choose a region that meets the service’s requirements, then compare stability on your own network. If connections drop frequently, note the route type and when it happens; that’s more useful for troubleshooting than judging by the name alone.
Which regions are available, and where should I connect for AI tools and streaming?
VPNRest covers 110+ countries / 240+ routes. Check the user dashboard and your updated client configuration for the routes currently available to you. AI tools and streaming services may check your exit region, account region, content licensing, and payment details, so a region name alone doesn’t guarantee access. Check the service’s published regional requirements, then test an eligible exit region. If the service is working, keep the exit region consistent where possible instead of switching back and forth. If you see an error, keep the original message for troubleshooting.
Can automatic route selection replace choosing a region manually?
Automatic route selection can reduce the need to switch routes manually, but it can’t override a service’s regional requirements. For general browsing, enable the client’s automatic selection option and confirm it works by testing the sites you use. If you need content from a specific region or want to keep your account region consistent, set a suitable region or choose a route manually, then test it. Options and policy names vary by client, so follow the instructions shown in your current app. Automatic selection doesn’t mean every route can access the same AI tools or streaming content.
Billing & Refunds
Check the billing method, data terms, and order status before taking action. To request a refund, use a support ticket and read the refund policy.
How much do monthly plans and data packs cost, and who are they for?
Monthly plans: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data packs: ¥158 for 300GB, ¥358 for 1000GB, and ¥658 for 3000GB. Monthly plan data resets each month on the date the plan starts, making it suitable for predictable monthly use. Data packs remain available until used and never expire, making them a good fit for occasional or irregular use. Compare the billing terms with your actual usage rather than looking only at the upfront price. Before getting started, check your selection on the plans page and in the user dashboard; monthly plans and data packs have different terms.
When does monthly plan data reset, and how are mid-cycle upgrades calculated?
Monthly plan data resets each month on the date the plan starts, not necessarily on the first day of the calendar month. For a mid-cycle upgrade, the price difference is prorated for the remaining days. Check your account status, data balance, and upgrade details in the order confirmation shown in the user dashboard. Before confirming, review your current plan, the target plan, and the change details displayed on the page. Don’t assume the price difference includes extra data, or estimate your remaining benefits by simply prorating a full month’s allowance. If the dashboard shows something unexpected, save the order details and check with support through a ticket before continuing.
Which payment methods are supported, and what should I do if my account status doesn’t change after payment?
We support Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT. Before paying, check the order and amount in the dashboard, then follow the instructions on the current checkout page. If your account status doesn’t change after payment, check the order status and make sure you’re signed in to the account used for the order. Don’t create or pay for the same order repeatedly just because the page hasn’t updated yet. If you still can’t confirm the status, open a support ticket with the order ID, payment method, and a redacted payment receipt so support can check it. Never send your payment account password or other credentials unrelated to the order.
What is the refund period, and how do I request a refund?
VPNRest offers a 60-day money-back guarantee. To request a refund, sign in to the user dashboard and submit a support ticket with your request and the order details needed for verification. You may attach the relevant payment receipt, but obscure account information that isn’t needed to verify the order. Read the refund policy before submitting to understand the requirements and next steps. Check your ticket for a reply and provide any additional information requested. If you can’t sign in, see the contact page for available support options. Refund progress depends on the response you receive; the guarantee does not promise a fixed processing or arrival time.
